2010-2011 season

Leaves (September 9-12 at the Playwrights’ Center)

Six people are brought together by the death of a great man. As the funeral approaches, they struggle to understand themselves, each other, and what it means to be American in the twenty-first century. Inspired by the work of Walt Whitman, the poet who defined America’s soul, Leaves is a world premiere play with music and poetry (both old and new) collaboratively created by Savage Umbrella.

The Winter Adventures of Happy, the SAD Clown (December 2010)

Join Happy, a very depressed clown, on his search for happiness through a vast & confusing winter wonderland.

the ravagers (shut up and let me go) (April 2011)

An exploration of manipulation, control, dissent and humanity.  the ravagers will undergo simultaneous workshops in Seoul, South Korea and Minneapolis, Minnesota with a public presentation in April 2011. A full production is slated for Fall 2011 in Minneapolis.

Ex-Gays (Summer 2011)

A satire about the ex-gays movement that will utilize improv, techniques based on forum theatre, and humor that might need a warning from the surgeon general.
